Estancia Maria

Really cozy and comfortable, with lots of nature around.

The service was excellent, and the view and breakfast were lovely. It’s a beautiful, well-kept property with plenty of space. The room is quite simple, though, and felt a little cramped to me.

We were looking for somewhere peaceful to spend New Year’s, and found it at Estância Maria, about 7 km from town. The property isn’t large, but it feels calm and welcoming. We traveled with our one-year-old, and she loved the soup we made for her in the kitchen. The pool temperature was just right, and the hammock was perfect for an after-lunch nap. Marinalda, Elizete, Juliana, and the rest of the team were always kind, helpful, and smiling. Marinalda especially makes you feel like family. She wants to get to know you, show you around, and make sure you feel at home, not just check in and hand over a room. The room was cozy, everything was clean, and the pork ribs with cassava she made us were the best we’d had in years. We’ve traveled all over North and South America and stayed at plenty of owner-run hotels, but I’ve never been treated as well as I was at Estância Maria.

The staff treated me very well, and they were friendly, helpful, and well informed about the inn. It was clean, and you can feel the care that goes into the breakfast. The place is especially nice if you want a cozy stay close to nature, and I’d recommend it to couples or families looking for some peace and quiet. It’s a bit outside Piri, but the quality of the inn makes up for the distance. I recommend it.
