Pousada Rancho do João

Great.

This was our second stay, and my daughters loved it again. The inn is close to the town center, with lots of greenery, hammocks, and a heated pool. The rooms are spacious, though the property is older, so don’t expect newly renovated rooms. Breakfast is adequate. I did miss having a luggage rack or a small table for bags and other things.

We had a large room for two, though the inn has several room types. The place is simple, pretty, and well kept. The building is quite old but maintained. There’s a distinctive wood-fired sauna, a heated pool, a sun deck, and a breakfast restaurant. Breakfast tasted good. Beatriz, Danilo and Luiz Felipe were helpful when we needed them.

Wow, the inn really does live up to its name, “a different inn.” The rooms feel more like little flats than a row of doors along a corridor. Ours was clean and tidy. The pool water was at room temperature, and the breakfast spread was generous. The man at reception was very helpful. I’ll definitely come back.
