Pousada Solar do Frota

The owner is very friendly and welcoming. This is a simple place with basic rooms, just a bed and bathroom, and really only suited for sleeping. Only one room has air conditioning, and the small TV in mine didn't work. There's no breakfast, but you can buy water and drinks. Given how little the inn offers, I think the price could be lower.

We liked the photos and booked three rooms, expecting all of them to have air conditioning. When we arrived, only one room had it, and the rooms looked nothing like the website pictures. One smelled of mold, so the reality was the opposite of what we felt we'd been sold. I paid in full for one room for four people, even though there were only three of us, and half for each of the other two. To get half of my payment back, we had to call the police. The owner refunded half for my room but refused to return anything for the other two, even with the police there. Do plenty of research before booking. I can't recommend this inn at all.

I paid in advance and made a reservation, but they canceled it in the end and left me sleeping in my car. A complete mess.

The welcome was warm and the location is good, but the rooms leave a lot to be desired, even for a simple inn. With some improvements, I'd definitely stay here again.
