Dona Angelita is the heart of the inn. She's such a lovely, friendly person that you'd want to come back just to hear more of her stories. The place itself is welcoming and pleasant, and right in the middle of town, close to everything.

We loved our stay. The breakfast included cheese bread baked fresh, and the suite was wonderful, with a comfortable bed and clean towels. My wife and I also had all the privacy we wanted.

I ended up laughing about it later, but at the time it was a mess. We booked a suite with a whirlpool bath, then they tried to give us an inferior room. The bathroom drain backed up, and the shower water wouldn't heat up. My wife and I were alone at the inn with no staff there to help. I called the owner several times to report the problems and got nowhere. We left and found a hotel in town, which saved the trip we'd taken to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

I had a great stay, and it was handy being close to all the local services.

It has that welcoming, small-town home or grandma's house feeling, and breakfast comes with a Minas Gerais touch. The place is right downtown, near restaurants, bars, an ice cream shop, and a market. I'd recommend it for a group or family.
