For what it costs, it really isn’t worth it. Check-in was at 3pm, but our room wasn’t ready until 4pm. They asked us to wait by the pool and said drinks were complimentary, yet it took 20 minutes for a beer to arrive. Worst service I’ve ever had at a 5 star hotel.

The staff were friendly, but there wasn’t much else to like. We had no hot water at the bathroom sink, only in the shower, and the breakfast food tasted unbelievably artificial. The bedrooms were okay, though they were about the only place to relax besides the pools, where seats were in short supply. It’s a good 10-15 minutes from the centre of Paraty, and overpriced too. Don’t waste your money.

My kids are already asking to go back! Carlos at the front desk was especially helpful, spoke great English, and helped me with everything at the hotel and in Paraty. The service was amazing all around. We loved the setting, with its lovely grounds, river, and stunning pools. Everything felt perfect.

If something happens and you need to change your dates, they ask you to add a very high amount to what you’ve already paid. And if you get sick or have an accident, they won’t refund your money, not even part of it. They ignore clients and show no empathy. The property is expensive, the staff are unpleasant and don’t listen, so I don’t recommend it at all.
