Casa Azul is right across from a laundry and on a street packed with bars and restaurants. There's a very good bar on the first floor, and for the cheapest price I found in Porto Alegre, it's an awesome hostel if you don't mind a few shortcomings. The shared bathrooms are cramped. There's nowhere to put your clothes while showering, and when you're at the sink, the floor is the only place for your things. The lower bunk beds are so low you'll hit your head if you try to sit up.
