It’s cozy and well placed, close to Santa casa, pharmacies, cosmetics shops and snack places. The reception staff are polite, kind and attentive, and the price is very affordable. I’ll keep coming back.

Right across from Santa Casa in central Porto Alegre, this cozy hotel is well located. The reception staff are really nice too. Good value.
It’s a historic area near one of Brazil’s largest hospital complexes, which is why I’m still giving it two stars. The center of Porto Alegre feels run down, with lots of graffiti and old, poorly maintained buildings. The area also feels extremely unsafe, with frequent thefts and muggings.
I haven’t had any experience there myself, but my husband Milton seems to have had a great stay at this hotel by the square. Maybe I’ll get to visit sometime.
I paid $50.00 for a night, then had to spend another $25.00 on parking a block away. The hotel was pretty poor, there wasn’t even anything to drink at reception, so I had to drink tap water.
