Pousada Serra e Mar

I didn’t stay overnight, but spent the day here. Eric met us on the road when we were trying to find the beach, showed us the way, then welcomed us to the lodge, which is open to the public. The food and hospitality were great, the views amazing, and the rooms looked clean and tidy. The drive is a little sketchy. If you don’t have an SUV, you should talk to them about picking you up for the last kilometer or so. I’d still come back to stay.

It feels like a dream there. Alan and his wife were excellent hosts, and she makes the dinners. Breakfast was a 10/10. Just know it’s quite remote in a nature reserve and getting there is a bit tricky. If you get the chance, go. Highly recommended!

The inn staff were very friendly, but I didn’t actually stay, even though I’d paid. It was in a very basic place up on a hill, hard to access and with no way to leave on my own. It didn’t look anything like the Booking or Despegar photos. Despegar was at fault for not checking where they were sending me, even though they had put the package together. When I arrived there was no electricity, and the generator was making an irritating noise. The last photo was of my room.
