Ana was especially helpful in arranging the same room I had last year. Thanks for your support, Ana, and for speaking muito bem english, which made it easy for me to communicate. This is my second time in Brazil, and I came back because the hotel is in a prime location, the staff are friendly and cooperative, and I haven't found another hotel as comfortable as this one.

Over six months in South America, this was probably the best hostel I stayed at. It's in a great location, and the staff are super friendly. The dorms are clean, towels are provided, and breakfast is amazing.

The food was amazing, especially the cheesecake at breakfast, and the restaurant is great too. The rooms are thoughtfully designed and have a lot of potential, but the cleanliness didn't meet expectations. The towels were dirty, and there was no electricity for part of the day. A plumbing problem damaged my camera, and they refused to help. The design can't make up for that lack of cleanliness and support.

The one good thing here was Lorenzo at the front desk, who was really nice. I'm definitely not coming back. Finding the entrance was confusing. You have to go to where the laptops are and wait for someone to show up. The safe didn't work, and they couldn't replace it until the next day, even though I explained I needed it that day. They offered to keep my things downstairs, but I didn't feel comfortable with that, so I took them with me. I only learned on the second day that sheets and towels aren't changed daily. They said you have to leave everything on the floor before you go out if you want it replaced. There was one notice by the bed and another in the bathroom, but neither was there on my first day. The comforter seemed not to have been washed in a while. I thought I was imagining it, until I realized the previous guest had probably used it and they hadn't cleaned it. I felt really uncomfortable and asked them to replace it. The bathroom was dirty, especially the walls and shower head, and even the toilet hadn't been properly cleaned. They didn't provide hand soap until I asked. The TV didn't work, the mini fridge was barely attached, and the floor didn't seem to be cleaned every day. The room was so dark at night that I could barely find my things. There was barely any space in the bottom bunk, like being in a coffin, so I threw the mattress on the floor just to sleep. The restaurant guy downstairs acted like he was doing us a favor. We were the only ones there that evening, but he took his sweet time taking our order.
