Hostel Brasil Eco-Adventure

I'm really unhappy with how this booking went. I booked through the hotel app hurbano, but when my friends and I arrived around 23:30, nobody was there to let us in. The owner told me reception closed at 20:00, something the app hadn't said. He was out of state and tried to sort it out with his employee, sending me the employee's number. I spoke to the employee too, but nobody came to help us. It was pouring rain, and we stayed in the car until around 2:30 in the morning, trying to reach an agreement. Then the owner said the reservation was for a women's room. The app didn't specify that, and there were four of us booking one room, which could hold four people. I don't see why that should have made a difference. He later wanted to charge us extra to let us stay, on top of what we'd already paid through the app for four people. He stressed that we'd bought a women's room and suggested it might be an app problem. That wasn't my fault. What about rooms for gay, bisexual or lesbian people? In the end, at 03:00, we had to ask a friend who lives nearby to take us in. We couldn't find another inn, and the rain was coming down heavily. I'm dissatisfied with both the app and the owner and employee, who didn't think about what we were going through and seemed concerned only with the money and their own trip over. I still intend to take legal action against the property and the app. The app says you don't need to contact the hotel or inn, and can simply show up on the selected date at the listed place, but that's clearly not how this worked. If you book, call the hotel to confirm your nights, because missing information at the time of purchase can lead to a situation like the one my friends and I faced.
