Pousada Residencia dos Sonhos

The owners and staff were wonderful to us, and breakfast was marvelous. I had a great stay apart from a few small things. The room and bathroom were small, and the breakfast area felt stuffy and dim. The old minibar had cracks and rust, there was no bathroom outlet, and there were no soaps or shampoo. The beds had very thin sheets and no comforter. I can see they're investing in room improvements, like new minibars. One suggestion: the bathroom lighting is poor.

I forgot to take photos of the room. We were welcomed well even though we arrived at 1:00 a.m., and whenever we had an issue, someone came to help right away. The room was cleaned every day, everyone was attentive, and the air conditioning and fridge both cooled really well, which you need in Pernambuco's heat. The breakfast was delicious too. The room could use a few basic improvements, but that's common in a place that hosts tourists all year. One suggestion: a drying line area for wet beach clothes would be useful. The location is excellent, just five minutes from the town center, so we went there every night even when tired.

The whole stay was a bad experience, from beginning to end. The place felt dirty and poorly maintained, with no apparent concern for guests or any real commitment to hospitality, service quality or customer respect. The photos advertised don't match its current condition, which seemed to show structural and operational decline. Everything gave an impression of improvised management, with no clear internal processes. When my family and I arrived before check-in, reception told us to leave our bags there. They had no labels, supervision or security measures, so our belongings were left exposed. We waited more than 30 minutes without service, directions or a reasonable explanation. We briefly left to eat, and when we came back, a man who said he was the owner was sitting inappropriately on the reception sofa. He looked unkempt, was dressed in a way that didn't suit his role, and was barefoot in the guest service area. That gave an unmistakable impression of disregard for basic hygiene, professional presentation and respect for guests. After that, a staff member was assigned to check us in. He seemed unprepared and technically weak, and was not very courteous, showing little grasp of basic hospitality or customer service. Later, a woman who also identified herself as an owner used products displayed for sale at the property, then put them back on the shelves. That episode reinforced the impression that there were no properly structured operational, sanitary or management standards. Reception seemed completely disorganized, with no clear procedures or basic control of guest flow. I can't recommend this place to anyone looking for a safe, comfortable stay that matches what's advertised.

Such a cozy place, with great service and a handy location. And the breakfast was just perfect!
