A good enough hotel.

A cozy hotel.

The breakfast was a real bright spot, with regional foods like plantain, cassava, and couscous, along with bread, scrambled eggs, cake, sausage, cold cuts, fruit, hot drinks, and juice. The kitchen staff were very helpful, and reception was attentive. There’s also a hammock area for sitting and relaxing, and a hamburger place at the inn with sandwiches, pizzas, and snacks. I only wish they sold ice cream there. The inn is 50 meters from the beach and 1.6 km from Porto de Galinhas center, with an Uber ride averaging R$ 12.00. Our room was in the back, probably in the older first building, while the front rooms looked newer and better ventilated, with new doors and windows. The room had no clothesline, and the small window rail wasn’t much use for drying swimwear. There wasn’t a table for a quick meal or a phone to call reception, either. The mini-fridge was so-so, the TV got local channels, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The shower didn’t work, so I had cold showers every day, though I didn’t mind much since it was summer. Still, it was a great room for resting. Being upstairs and at the back made it very quiet for sleeping, and it had one of the best beds I’ve come across while traveling. I liked the inn and would return.

The best thing about this inn is how close it is to the center, about a 10-minute walk. The property has potential, and the rooms are spacious, but it clearly needs more care and maintenance. The photos don’t match what we found. The place needs a general refresh, and the walls urgently need painting because of the visible hand and footprint marks. Our sheets were torn and too small for the beds, and there was no blanket or bed cover. The bathroom window was broken. The room was reasonably clean, but that didn’t make up for the poor condition of the details. Breakfast was the worst part. There was only one juice, pineapple, and it was very bitter, plus three or four kinds of fruit, bread, butter, cheese, ham, coffee, and milk. The food didn’t look very appealing, but the bigger problem was the flies. They were all over uncovered, unprotected food, and it was impossible to eat. It’s a shame such a large inn seems so badly managed. The lack of care is obvious, and honestly, it wasn’t worth the price.
