Pousada Reserva Tatuamunha

The pool was wonderful, and breakfast was great too. The pousada was tidy and well organized, and it worked really well for our stay in milagres. The one letdown was the lack of a hair dryer in the room. They didn't have one to lend us either. We only wanted to borrow one, but oh well.

The breakfast, prepared by Rose, was very good. There weren't many choices, but what they had was tasty: fruit, tapioca, French bread, eggs, couscous, cake, juice, coffee, and milk. You tell them what you'd like and they make it for you. I did miss whole grain options, like bread and grains. The place feels quite new, and the small rooms are clean and neatly arranged. There's a big TV with Netflix and other channels, though the Wi-Fi kept cutting in and out. The only leisure option is the pool, even though there's a large yard. We had ants in the hallway, so I put a mat against the door to cover the gaps. Being close to the river and mangrove, other little creatures could get in too, so a door draft stopper would help. The room could use some basic information as well, such as the inn's rules, Wi-Fi password, and snack prices. One switch was marked as a power outlet beside the light switch, but it actually shuts off power to the shower. We turned it off without knowing, then couldn't get hot water until we asked about it. All in all, we had a very good stay.

The reception team treated us really well, and the woman in the kitchen was so friendly. Breakfast kept us well fed with cake, fruit, couscous, tapioca, juice, coffee, milk, bread, and more. For food and drinks during the day, you order from the digital menu through reception. We came hoping for a little peace and found even more of it than expected. The room was spacious and clean, with a large TV, strong air conditioning, a really nice shower, and a comfortable bed. Soap and shampoo were provided too. The pool was a highlight, always warm, and relaxing enough that we slept for 12 hours straight on both days. Guess we really needed the rest. The pousada is next to the Tatuamunha bridge, which is a lovely spot for sunset. We had wonderful, restful days and were sorry to leave.

It's a simple little pousada, with no luxury, but it's charming and everything is neatly kept. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The small pool is pleasant, though there's nothing for children to play with. It's not close to the beach, but there's a nice mangrove and walkway to visit. Keep walking a bit farther and you'll reach the beach.
