We only went to the restaurant, so I can’t comment on the pousada itself. The meal was delicious, and the booking service was very friendly. I had the beef cheek with taro and really enjoyed it. The little pepper sauce they brought afterward rounded it out beautifully. My husband thought his fish with plantain and cashew sauce was excellent, and the portions were just right. Service didn’t take too long. Mosquitoes were the one downside. It’s not the restaurant’s fault, but it might be helpful to offer repellent. We finished with homemade cream and cashew ice cream. It was tasty, though not exceptional. A visit is well worth it. Expect around 150 reais per person for a main, juice, and dessert.

The atmosphere at the restaurant of Pousada Xuê was rustic, comfortable, and lovely, with soft background music alongside the sound of the sea and wind in the tall coconut palms. The food won us over. Breakfast had fresh fruit, delicious cakes, tapioca and omelets made to order, fresh juices, coconut water, house-made jams and granola, and an olive oil bread I can’t even describe. The appetizers were just as good and could be served on the deck, but dinner was the real highlight. The menu was impeccable, and the desserts were hard to do justice to. Mariella recommended some other well-regarded restaurants that we enjoyed, but the food at Pousada Xuê was in a class of its own. We stayed in the green cottage, the second one counting from the beach, with a beautiful view and a spot right on the sand. The Praia do Patacho is gorgeous, and the trip to the natural pools was spectacular. We also visited the nearby beaches of Laje, Toque, and São Miguel dos Milagres, all strikingly beautiful, and made a short visit to Praia dos Coqueiros in Pernambuco. There are five colorful little houses set in a beautifully kept garden by the sea. They’re all the same inside, with a spacious bedroom and bathroom, TV, air conditioning, minibar, storage for clothes and luggage, and a small outdoor area with a hammock. There’s also a little clothesline out back for wet things. Even the shampoo and conditioner are made in-house. From my first WhatsApp message through checkout, Mariella looked after me so well. The rest of the staff were polite, courteous, and helpful too. An unforgettable stay, and we’d love to come back.

The care they took with my youngest, who’s allergic to fish and seafood, made our five days with my family especially happy. The meals were handled with exceptional attention, and everything we ate was among the best I’ve ever tried. The rooms were spacious, the decor was pleasant, and the service was warm and attentive. Easily one of the best pousadas I’ve stayed in. A big hug to Mari, Guido, and the whole Xuê team. I highly recommend it.
