The power went out in our room after dinner, so we had to go to the front desk and ask someone to fix it. Earlier, we’d been shown to a tiny room with just one small bed, even though we’d booked a room for five. We were exhausted and decided to stay rather than argue. The sink was dirty and drained poorly, and a phone taking up space in the room had no cord or service. The room ad also promised a hammock, but there wasn’t one. When we raised that, the front desk said hotels pay third parties like Expedia to advertise rooms, and that to get what you pay for you need to book directly by calling employees hired by the Owner. They didn’t answer the phone, and no one on staff spoke English. There was also a sign at the entrance saying “pardon our appearance during construction,” and it looked like it had been there for years. I can’t say anything about the food or alcohol since we didn’t buy any extras. We felt taken advantage of, and the beachfront hotels, bars, and restaurants seemed to have similar menus and prices. I’m sure the other beachfront properties along this strip offer similar services and amenities. My best advice for travelers is “No crying on the yacht” and just enjoy yourselves.

As a travel agent, I tried to reach Hotel Beijamar to responsibly sort out a booking that the intermediary tour operator hadn’t paid for. I offered to resolve it directly with the hotel to spare my client any trouble. The email was delivered, but I never got a reply. That silence is disappointing because it affects not only the agency, but also puts the guest’s experience at risk. This kind of response weakens trust in the service and in working with tourism professionals. I’m leaving this here to express my dissatisfaction and alert other agents and customers.

The location was good, and Rebeca was incredibly friendly, but that was about all I liked. The photos of this inn are very misleading. Our room was dark and the furniture old; the suite had only one small, cracked mirror in the bathroom. For a week I had to get ready and go to the window of an abandoned gym to see my full reflection. The staff were very grumpy, and the breakfast area was tiny and chaotic when food was being served. On our last day, we took our bags out but left the drinks to collect when we were ready to leave. Before we handed in the key, my husband went back and found almost everything gone. He managed to get some of the drinks back from the maids, but the sodas and chocolates had already been taken from the room; only the waters were still on the cart. I paid almost 6,000 for six nights for two people. It wasn’t worth even half that. Worst travel experience of my life. I absolutely do not recommend it.
