Brisa da Praia Park Hotel

We spent a week at the hotel as a family. Its location is convenient, right by the beach and on the main road, with easy access to buses, Uber, and taxis. The city center is a 10-20 minute drive, and the staff were consistently friendly and polite when we needed help. The breakfast was very good, with fruit, cakes, juices, and tapiocas made fresh. The cocktails were good too. I wouldn't recommend eating at the bar, though. The pizza was basically a supermarket frozen pizza with extra toppings, and it wasn't tasty enough to justify the price. Vegetarians and vegans should make their needs clear before ordering. I checked with the waitress that my pizza had no meat, but it arrived with ham. I understand misunderstandings happen, and something similar happened at another venue. Apparently in Brazil only beef is considered meat. What upset me was that the manager wanted to charge the waitress for the pizza because it was supposedly her mistake. I argued that it wasn't her fault, but the manager wouldn't budge, so I felt I had to pay for both pizzas. That was very unfair to the staff member. Our room faced the pool, which got pretty loud, especially with games and live music almost every evening. I liked the live music, but it played loudly during the day as well, so taking an afternoon nap wasn't possible. The mattresses were old and less comfortable than average, and the bathroom was old too. The gym was fine for a bit of exercise, nothing special. I didn't use the steam room because it only runs at limited times. Internet access was almost nonexistent. I gave up after the second day and used my mobile network, and the internet room downstairs wasn't much better. We each had to wear one of those bright green VIP-pass style bracelets from check-in to checkout. It was annoying, and I couldn't see why it was needed. The hotel also gives each room just one access card and doesn't keep it at reception. That was frustrating when we wanted to leave at different times and take separate routes, since we couldn't come back independently. All of this might be acceptable if the hotel weren't advertised as 4 stars. It may have the facilities of a 4-star hotel, but the standards fall well short.
