Enseada Dos Corais Praia Hotel

The pool is spacious and well looked after, the rooms are comfortable, clean, and roomy, and everything worked during our stay. Breakfast was tasty, the restaurant run by an outside operator had plenty of choices and hours, and the staff were very good. The hotel is right by the beach, and from a room facing the pool you can hear the waves, which is a lovely touch. From what we saw and discussed, it seemed quite safe. The restaurant also serves the beach, and its prices are good. At night, vans leave from in front of the hotel at different times and cost R$ 5 per person for a ride to Rua do Mucugê or Centro de Arraial, so there’s no need to walk up the hill. A few things could be better. The breakfast fruit changed from day to day, and the cakes didn’t have labels, so it wasn’t always clear what they were. The indoor dining area felt dark and stuffy. In the afternoon there was coffee in a thermos and a jar of plain crackers in a pretty garden lounge, but it was a very meager snack. They could have put out some fruit or leftover cake from breakfast. The game room sat dark and unused, and a playroom for children might make better use of that space. I didn’t need parking since I was there without a car, but the number of spaces looked insufficient.

We already knew the hotel, and the stay itself was uneventful. The problem came at checkout, when they tried to charge us for a bottle of sparkling mineral water they said was missing from the apartment’s fridge. It hadn’t gone missing. I photographed and personally checked the items as soon as we arrived, but they still insisted we should pay for the “disappeared” water. They eventually admitted their mistake, which settled the matter to their satisfaction. Management should make sure this doesn’t happen again. It’s unpleasant, and it could lead to a legal dispute and a moral damages penalty for the hotel. To me, it confirms my view that local businesses don’t have properly trained HR staff, and guests end up paying the price. That’s a shame. Sometimes I wonder whether business owners care about this.

Someone recommended the place and I trusted them, but it was a total letdown. There wasn’t enough cleaning, cats wandered through the dining areas, and food was left exposed with flies around it. The breakfast was awful.

The staff were the best part, genuinely great service from everyone, always kind and ready to help. Breakfast was generous, and the restaurant serving the hotel was very good, reasonably priced, and would bring food to the beach. There were beach chairs and tables too, plus vans right outside for the return trip to Rua do Mucugê. The hotel’s right by the sea, with a lovely view and a warm-feeling pool, though it isn’t heated. Even with several famous beach clubs nearby, it’s amazingly peaceful if you want to rest. The location is perfect for staying by the ocean and having some quiet.
