Porto Bahia Hotel

Porto Bahia Hotel was wonderful. Everything was very clean and smelled fresh, and breakfast was delicious. All the staff were so helpful, especially Dona Telma and Vitória. I’d like to name all the women, but I didn’t remember everyone’s names, haha. Special thanks as well to Sr. Adeildo, who was fantastic and always ready to help. If you’re going to Porto Seguro, stay at Porto Bahia.

The team made our six-day stay especially good. Nildo and everyone else were polite, attentive, and quick to sort things out. I’d give them a 10. My only suggestion is to put a floor squeegee in the bathroom; it would make daily use easier. Porto Bahia Hotel is charming, clean, well cared for, and organized, with a structure that reflects local culture, including the typical central-area facade. The pool was clean and pleasant in the heat. Breakfast was tasty and generous, and the tapioca cake is especially worth trying. I understood that bikes are available to rent, though we didn’t use one; I imagine riding to the beaches would be lovely. We were there over New Year when the city was extremely crowded. We left our car parked because of the traffic. At peak times, some people were taking nearly three hours to get from the beaches to the center, a trip that usually takes 15-25 minutes. We used Uber to visit Porto Seguro’s beaches, but chose our times carefully. The hotel is in central Porto Seguro, about a ten-minute walk from Passarela do Álcool and the ferry to Arraial d’Ajuda and the surrounding area. We walked those routes several times, including back from dinner at Passarela late at night, and felt safe. Cell service across town was weak because of the crowds. The hotel Wi-Fi worked very well during the day, even for working from home, though it slowed a little at night when more guests were online. We always travel with a power strip, and it came in handy: our room had one outlet by the door, one beside the bed, and one in the bathroom, which wasn’t enough for our computers and other needs.

Such a lovely little inn! The beds were comfortable, and the sheets were nicely ironed and smelled good. Everything was spotlessly clean, and breakfast was delicious. The street is calm and quiet, and it’s excellent value for money.

We had a wonderful few days here, with 10 out of 10 service. It’s a family-run inn, and everyone at reception was attentive, polite, and ready to help. Breakfast was excellent too. It’s close to the center and Passarela do Álcool. I’ll definitely be back.
