The best part for me was how personal this place feels. It has its own character, unlike a polished multinational resort, and it was a refreshing change from the tourist-machine world. It’s simple, clean, and safe, right beside the beautiful Preguicas river. The garden hammocks by the water make you want to slow down. It’s charming rather than luxurious, and the rooms are small. Still, if you and your friends enjoy each other’s company, that’s no problem. Breakfast is healthy, the staff are genuinely friendly, and the location is exceptional.

Eliezer was also so friendly and attentive, and helped us feel at home during our stay. The inn was clean and comfortable, with a great base for exploring the Maranhenses Sheets. Alessandro was extremely welcoming and kind, always ready to help with what we needed, from arranging tours to sharing local recommendations. I had an amazing stay and would highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting the region who wants to relax and enjoy Barreirinhas.

Such a charming, pretty pousada right by the river, with a great breakfast and lovely staff. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the port. I was in room 9, directly off the breakfast terrace, so I woke up very early, though it didn't bother me.

I really enjoyed my stay. The view over Rio Preguiças is so pretty and relaxing, and the service was great. The pousada is a little far from the center if you don't have a car, but that didn't affect my stay at all. Everything was so clean, tidy, and organized. They cleaned the room every single day I was there. Breakfast was wonderful, with lots of choices, and they make fresh, hot cuscuz and tapioca. I recommend it!
