Pousada Brisa do Mar

The rooms were clean, and the location was awesome. Great hotel.

The staff were polite and friendly, and the location right in the center is the one good thing about this place. The inn itself is old, badly maintained, and extremely dirty. Our room hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived; they’d only changed the sheets and towels. The bathroom was filthy, with hair everywhere from previous guests. There was mold in several parts of the room, and the water looked dirty and smelled bad. The mini-fridge stank and was covered in rust. Basic hygiene and even minimal maintenance are missing. The worn mattress was bad and sagged.

The room was basic but okay, though the bathroom could have been better looked after. The location worked really well: right by Passarela do Álcool and the ferry to Arraial da Ajuda, and getting from the airport to the inn was very quick. I walked to both Passarela do Álcool and the ferry. Pretty decent.

The location is excellent, breakfast is very good, and the staff are attentive. The room has what you need, though a bedside table or reading light would be nice. There’s just the ceiling light, and its switch is a long way from the bed. I’ve noticed the unpleasant bathroom smell in other hotels and even out on the street too, so I think it may be a Porto Seguro problem.
