My flight was delayed quite a bit, but they promptly helped me change things and made sure the trip went smoothly. The service was very good, and the location is ideal.

Even though I gave them adequate notice after our plans changed, they wouldn’t refund the hostel stay, which I’d already paid for in full before we arrived.

The location was a real plus, close to both the airport and bus station, with supermarkets, snack bars, and restaurants nearby. There was also a TV room guests could use. I only spent one night at this Porto Seguro hostel in March, so the stay was relatively okay overall, but I wouldn’t stay again because I couldn’t get a good night’s sleep. A volunteer welcomed me warmly. I can’t remember his name now, but we talked quite a bit and he was attentive and helpful, which made arriving pleasant. 💛 The heat in the mixed dorm, which I think had around 12 beds, was the biggest problem. In the afternoon it was too hot even to nap. The fans didn’t reach my bed by the door, and the room’s high, spacious ceiling didn’t seem to allow enough airflow. There was a notice saying the air conditioning would run from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. I initially thought it might be out of date, since guests would still be sleeping when it switched off, but that’s exactly what happened. I went to bed around 11 p.m. and woke at 6 a.m. drenched in sweat. I couldn’t fall asleep again and just lay there until it was time to leave. The mattresses also had plastic covers like the kind used in hospitals, which made them feel even hotter and not very comfortable. With the hostel’s setup, I think some improvements could make things more comfortable, such as running the air conditioning for longer.

The location is handy, near the bus station, a supermarket, and a convenience store. They have private and shared rooms, as well as a lot. Breakfast is delicious, with bread, broa, cake, fruit, and juice. The women’s room has been renovated and has lockers and a mirror. The mixed room could use the same treatment, since its lockers don’t fit backpacks. The staff are great, especially Renato, who’s kind and helpful.

The photos really do match the hostel. Everything was organized and felt harmonious, with a clean bathroom and beds made up with new sheets and decorations. There was air conditioning and a fan, and it was a pleasant, peaceful place to sleep. Dona Nargila also gave great service and tips.
