The beach is beautiful, but the flat made me think twice about ever returning to Guaratiba. When we arrived, it looked bad, and things got worse once we went inside. The refrigerator didn't cool, the household utensils and bed linens were old, there was no real comfort, and the shower knob kept falling off like in a cheap bar. The pool was dirty and cleaned only once a week. We stayed in the flat facing the children's pool. Rodrigo and Ana, the hosts, didn't give us any support or attention. Be careful when renting a house, apartment, or flat there. Check references first so you don't end up going through what I did. Some very dishonest people are renting out places in Guaratiba.
