Pousada Sol Mar

It's a simple place, but it's in very good condition and clean, and the prices are good. This neighborhood is almost at the border with Mongaguá, about 4 km from its center, so it's closer to go for a stroll there at night. The beach is quiet, without the huge crowds you get nearer the center. There are some shops nearby, but far fewer than in the central area.

We had a great experience with the service on Saturday, and the portions were wonderful. The guys were top-notch. The service they offer on the sand, though, is really poor, especially from one particular employee there. When we arrived around 11 on Sunday, she told us there were no umbrellas left and that the ones available were broken. We went to a competitor's umbrellas instead, and it was great. Later, we looked over and saw the place was full of umbrellas. I stay at the inn, eat at the restaurant, and use the pool, which turned out great, but I won't buy anything on the sand again.

Really nice. The inn was clean, cozy, and organized, and the people were lovely and kind.

There's no parking, even though the website says there is. The front yard only fits four cars, but the inn can host more than four guests, so there's not enough parking for everyone. The TV is smart, but they don't provide internet access for it, just open channels. That means you can't use the movie streaming apps installed on the TV, so it's basically useless. The inn's website and the rules posted in the room both said breakfast starts at 8 a.m. We went then, and after we'd started serving ourselves, an employee told us it actually began at 8:30. It was very awkward. Another couple had also followed the time posted in the room and on the website. What a mess! The bed and bath linens are poor quality and already too old for use at an inn. They don't provide blankets either. The soundproofing is bad. We could hear everything happening in the neighboring rooms, absolutely everything. The location isn't great, and staying here without a car just isn't feasible.
