The room had a strong mold smell, and the sheets smelled unbearably like wet dog. The floor was filthy, with visible dirt, as if nobody had swept it. The bed was only a wooden frame, with no mattress, and the air conditioner was wired through an extension cord stretched across the room from the wall to the bed. I didn't feel safe there, so I asked for a refund, or at least half since I wasn't staying. They refused. I was pressured again and told that whether I liked it or not, this was where I'd spend the next two nights. I chose to lose the money and find somewhere safe, clean, comfortable, and somewhere I felt okay. I'm a woman, and I want other women to read this carefully. The place looked nothing like the photos in the app. A man with no preparation for dealing with guests greeted me shirtless and smoking, and demanded I pay by Pix before I had even seen the room. I felt coerced and paid because I was already there and had trusted the listing photos. There was a door in the room, not the bathroom door, and I had no idea where it led. When I asked, he just said there was nothing to be done. The bathroom was shared, which the app hadn't made clear, and I was told I'd have to accept those conditions if I wanted to stay. What woman would feel safe sleeping in a room with a door when she doesn't know who has the key or who could come and go? Please be very careful. This place didn't feel safe or comfortable. Honestly, it was frightening.

I stayed just one night and left. The place was extremely dirty. Before I arrived, two women had shared the room; one left, and they left the bed as she'd used it for days, without changing it for me. They also keep a dog there. It came into the room and peed all over the floor, and they didn't clean it properly. The urine smell was really strong and awful. The other girl and I went outside at night to see if we could catch some breeze, because staying in the room had become unbearable.

The bathroom was so filthy and unsanitary that I understood why there were no photos of it in the Booking listing, even though I knew it was shared. The air conditioner was covered in dust and connected to an extension cord hanging on the bedroom wall. There were mosquitoes everywhere when I walked in. A complete mess. I paid for the reservation and immediately regretted it. Paulo Durão refused to refund me. Breakfast was only available from 9, but I had to leave earlier and couldn't use it, so I decided not to stay. Even so, Paulo kept my money, although the site I used to cancel said I could cancel at any time without a fee. I called Paulo and he was extremely rude. They took my money without me using the accommodation, even though I showed that I had the right to cancel under both Booking and the CDC. I do not recommend this place.

At 11 in the morning, they messaged to confirm the accommodation. I confirmed and told them what time I'd arrive, after making the reservation through the Booking app. But when we got there, there was no room available. The owner wanted to move us somewhere else. We asked him to cover the Uber fare since we were being relocated because of his mistake, but he refused. He got angry over something discussed privately with another person about a different matter, then refused to solve the problem. We were left in the rain in central Recife with nowhere to stay. There's nothing humane about the service. I don't recommend it, and I'll definitely take this further.
