Park Hotel

I picked this hotel because it was close to the airport and beach, but we had a horrible stay. Our flight was delayed, so we checked in late and got a room on the second floor. I’d booked what was supposed to be a suite, thinking it would be the best option, but apparently it wasn’t. In the morning it was noisy with deliveries, buses, and the like. The corridor smelled strongly of mold as soon as we stepped out of the elevator. The room seemed unused for ages, with flies in the bathroom and moldy curtains. Just a nightmare. Breakfast was okay, nothing special.

The staff were great, and breakfast was very good. The clean rooms have comfortable beds, standard equipment, and a bar with drinks and snacks; room service is available too. There’s a rooftop pool. The hotel is near the beach, with an ocean view, and the city square is also close by.

I stayed twice on my trip. The rooms were decent, and the ones facing the beach had excellent views. Breakfast was fantastic, and the market, praça, and beach are all close. The shower heads weren’t great: they needed cleaning and sprayed water everywhere.

I’m still staying at this amazing hotel, and the staff are unbelievably friendly and helpful. The menu is great, and the food is the best quality. My room has a beautiful view, and I feel safe and comfortable. Being far from home during such difficult times could have been horrible, but it’s turned into a wonderful, blessed experience.
