Pousada Casa Forte

A man inside the hotel was calling my room. The manager did nothing, so I left in the middle of the night.

The rooms are cleaned every day by the attentive housekeeping staff, and the pousada is in an excellent neighborhood. It has a charming, cozy feel, and we hope guests will come back. Some rooms are close to the garden. The older architecture and interior design can hold more moisture, so extra care is needed in colder weather. We apologize that cable TV has been unavailable for the last five days. The provider we used stopped transmitting, giving us little time to switch. The replacement is being installed and should be ready in the next few days, though it doesn’t depend on the pousada alone. Notices explaining the issue are posted in all apartments, the dining room, and reception. The staff service really stood out. The pousada has a classic style and sits in an upscale area, but the furniture is old, there was no cable TV during my stay, and there was a musty smell. The air conditioner was noisy, the staircase needs repairs, and breakfast was simple.

The breakfast was good. This is an old house, and the ground-floor rooms had a strong musty smell. The upstairs rooms were better, but the furniture was very old and the dirt on the carpets was visible. With a proper renovation, the place could be quite interesting.
