Aldebaran Pousada

Paula was waiting for us when we arrived from São Paulo in the early hours. She was very kind and helpful, welcoming us and sorting everything out. The room itself was large, the bed comfortable, and there was a fireplace, so that part was fine. Alessandra and Paula also made the service and attention good overall. The bathroom was what got to me. The shower is upstairs, where there’s an unheated pool under a roof with huge gaps that let the cold Visconde de Mauá wind right in. Taking a shower became an obstacle course since the shower is upstairs and the rest of the bathroom is downstairs. There was also a stale urine smell, like a toilet that hadn’t been cleaned for weeks. That bothered me even more than the cold shower. I’m picky about cleanliness, and the supplied wet wipes were completely dry. I tried using them with Lysol I carry in my bag to clean the toilet seat and surrounding walls, hoping the smell would improve. In my opinion, cleaning overall wasn’t good. They don’t change the towels, just dry them. They really need to invest in cleaning urgently.

Staying in the castor chalet gave me a peaceful immersion in the woods, with a view of nothing but nature. The grounds are beautiful and the garden is very well kept. Carla and her team were friendly and efficient. I loved the place!

We spent our wedding anniversary in the Vênus chalet. It was roomy and comfortable, and the inn felt so cozy. Dona Carla was always attentive to what we needed. A special thanks to Bia, who was so friendly and efficient at coordinating everything.

The breakfast was a real highlight, all fresh and made with care, with homemade breads, wonderful cakes, fresh fruit, natural juices, and well-brewed coffee I could have lingered over all morning. The chalet was cozy, very clean, and well equipped, with an extremely comfortable bed. Falling asleep to the sounds of nature was wonderful, and waking up to that view was refreshing. The team was attentive from the moment I arrived and clearly cared about guests’ well-being. The location worked perfectly for enjoying nature and exploring the area's waterfalls, and after a day out it was lovely to return to such a calm, welcoming place. I had an incredible stay at Pousada Aldebaran and can’t wait to come back. I’d recommend it wholeheartedly for its charming setting, great service, and amazing breakfast.
