Pousada Jardim da Luz

A fantastic show.

I first stayed at this Pousada on my 2019 trip to Visconde de Mauá and had an amazing time, so I chose it again this visit. The weather wasn't on our side, with clouds most of the time and occasional rain. Still, as the Portuguese poet says, “Everything is worthwhile if the soul is not small.” Wall was especially attentive and courteous.

The chalet had a comfortable amount of space, cozy beds, plenty of blankets and comforters, and a fireplace to keep the room warm. There was also a bathroom with enough room, plus a little kitchenette with a minibar, microwave, and cutlery, so it felt set up for guests to feel at home. Breakfast was delicious, with bread, cakes, fruit, coffee, tea, milk, and chocolate. They also had coffee and cake in the afternoon, which was lovely. Outside, there was a wonderful open area to enjoy nature, with a pool and sauna. Fazenda da Luz offers a lovely wellness experience for anyone who enjoys horseback riding. We were treated with care from our first contact through the whole stay, and hope to return.

I've known the Pousada for 7 years and make a point of coming every year for the Festa do Pinhão, with my reservation here guaranteed. It has a welcoming family feel, and the hospitality is wonderful. Everything is clean and well organized, and they show respect for both the community animals and guests' pets. Breakfast has that farm-style taste. Thanks to João, Wal, and the whole team for the great service and kindness every time. See you soon.
