Baixo Bebê is a lovely spot for kids, and the lifeguards are attentive. Leblon has a friendly local feel, with families, joggers, and people playing volleyball, plus vendors who are warm without being pushy. I found it clean and well looked after, with soft golden sand and waves that work for swimming or body-surfing. It feels more relaxed than Ipanema, while still having an upscale air. You can grab coconut water, açaí, or caipirinhas from the kiosks, then head to nearby shops and cafés or restaurants like Zazá and CT Boucherie. The Two Brothers (Dois Irmãos) look especially striking from the beach at sunset, when the sky goes pink and gold. A great place to enjoy the breeze and watch Rio's beach life.

The beach itself felt like the high point of my trip. There were fewer people and less trash than elsewhere, and I actually loved the vendors. Corn in a cup? Yes, please. Matte bem gelado! Brigado! I bought pretty much everything, haha. We got chairs and an umbrella from a vendor with the prices posted, so there was no need to haggle.

During Carnival it gets packed, like everywhere in Rio. The rest of the time, this is a beautiful beach and a little less crowded than Ipanema or Copacabana. Leblon also has really good nightlife nearby. One of Rio's big three beaches.

People call it nice, but I think it's beautiful. Great for swimming, sunbathing, and looking for cool seashells. It isn't dangerous if you use some common sense. Don't walk around the beach dressed up or bring valuables, and you won't make yourself a target.

For a quieter day by the sea with a little luxury nearby, Leblon is a good choice. It's one of Rio's more upscale, peaceful beach areas, with soft white sand and calm water. Locals and visitors come here for a more relaxed feel than at busier Ipanema and Copacabana, and there are high-end shops and restaurants close by.
