The apartment’s layout and location are good, but reception service, and especially the building manager Dona Neiva, fell well short of what you’d expect in a tourist city like Rio de Janeiro that welcomes people from all over the world. Rudeness was constant, and even the basic greetings were missing. On our first day, before we knew all the rules, D. Neiva told us about using the social elevator in an extremely rude way. She raised her voice and shouted that we couldn’t use it in swimwear. We politely apologized, but she kept following us and speaking loudly.

It wasn’t a good experience. The building manager Neiva was very rude. When I went down in the social elevator, she yelled, “You can’t go down here, I already told you.” I was so startled I thought she might hit me. I don’t recommend it. The people here are rude, disrespectful, and prejudiced.

Great location, with a 24-hour front desk. Very good.

The map imagery is very limited and doesn’t show Rua Santa Clara. Google should fix this gap. The nearby streets around Domingos Ferreira aren’t shown either. VW.... Jorge Tavares........
