Arena Leme Hotel

Breakfast had lots of choices and was absolutely amazing, and the rooms were clean and functional. The staff were friendly and gave helpful suggestions for things to do. I also really liked the rooftop bar. The hotel is in a good part of Leme. The beds were too soft for me and gave me some back pain, and the pillows were a bit too high. The location can feel a little far from things at times, and the pool is on the small side. Nothing too serious, but worth knowing before you book.

The room card didn't arrive until 3:30pm. We got there at noon, and after 2pm we were told several times it would be ready in “5 minutes.” They offered a slightly later checkout afterward, but our flight was at 6am, so it didn't help. The bathroom was dated, and the shower often flooded the floor. The rooftop pool also looked much nicer in the photos than it did in person. It wasn't a terrible stay, but there are things they could improve.

The staff were the best part of our stay. They went out of their way to help our family when my husband became ill and had to go to hospital. The hotel itself is a basic four-star place, with older rooms and limited amenities. It's well located, and the rooftop bar has a great view.

The pool deck was disappointing: the sauna wasn't working and the pool was gross and unclean, though the view was lovely. The rooms were fine, but had a strange mix of pee and old-ladies' perfume smells. The shower took an engineering degree to figure out, and the water was either too hot or boiling. As a British guest, I thought breakfast was good, with a nice range and decent quality for the most part. My Brazilian partner disagreed and said other hotels offer much better variety and quality. For the price, this place is okay, but I think paying a little more might have got us something similar in a more central location.
