The staff were really nice, and the rooms were comfortable, just what you need on a budget. We used Ubers to get everywhere, so we weren't around the hotel much. I wouldn't say the area is very good, but you can take Ubers to and from the hotel.

The place is downtown, and the area is dead on weekends. The breakfast was trash, the staff felt robotic, and there was mold on everything. Out of 19 floors, only one elevator was working. My key stopped working 15 or more times. One of the worst hotels ever.

Worst place in Rio. The room is in a separate building, and checkout was 2h late. They charge extra to store your bags, then make you pay again if you come to pick them up after 10 pm. Biggest scam ever. Stay away.

The hotel felt safe and was close to public transport and the city center, with restaurants and kiosks nearby. The surrounding area was busy. Breakfast was good, with lots of choices, and the coffee was very good. It was very busy in March, and I stayed in two rooms. The first had lots of bugs on the floor, table, and in the bathroom; the second room, on the first floor, had none. The bathroom towels had lost their white color, and the small AC made a lot of noise all the time.

The rooftop view was beautiful, and the hotel is conveniently downtown, very close to the American Embassy. The room was cleaned and breakfast was good, but there is plenty of room for improvement. The room service meat was tasty, though part of the order was missing, and I couldn't open the safe, so I had to call for service. The swimming pool handle was loose, and I cut my foot on the marble edge. Scarcity based conscious.
