You can refill your water bottles as often as you like from their filter, which not all hostels have. We stayed in a 6room dormitory, with lockers under the beds large enough for luggage. It’s practical and secure, though getting your things in and out every 10 min is a pain. The location is good despite being close to the favela. My main issue was the pee smell throughout the whole first floor from the communal bathrooms. They looked clean enough, and we had no problem using them. The AC in dormitories only comes on after 9pm, which can be annoying.

The owners put a surprising amount of love and effort into the Hoshtel, and the staff were so helpful with all my questions. Its location is great, between Copacabana and Ipanema, with everything you need within walking distance. The Metro is just a few steps away, so you can get anywhere in Rio in max 30 minutes. Aropador is only a 10 min walk, where you can enjoy one of the best sunsets in the world every day. Staying here was one of those things that made my trip to Rio complete.

A clean, modern, and safe hostel at the Copacabana, with friendly, helpful staff. The Metro Station is just 50m away, and it’s about 600m to Copacabana beach and 700m to Ipanema.

The Metro is right next door, and it’s a short, safe walk to Copacabana beach, at least during the day. The place is nice, very clean, and the staff are friendly.

The location is great and breakfast is nice. Most of the staff were helpful and nice. The hostel is good overall, but my room was just bad. Avoid "suite" no. 8 if you can.
