Hostel Lapa 166

I arrived from Spain planning to stay just a few days, and I’ve ended up here for months. From the start, Mel made me feel at home. She’s warm, understanding, and always ready to help, and she clearly cares about making guests feel welcome and supported. Moving somewhere completely new is hard, especially when you don’t speak the language, but the hostel’s atmosphere and her help made me feel part of the place quickly. It’s a really welcoming hostel, sometimes more like a hotel. Everything is kept clean, organized, and in good shape. The rooms have air conditioning, and the bathrooms are spotless and stocked with toilet paper. I felt safe too, with security cameras and locks on the rooms. There’s also a good area to study or work, and the central location makes it easy to get around the city. I’ve met wonderful people and made great friends here. Lots of guests seem reluctant to leave or come back, and now I understand why. It’s been one of the best experiences of my life, and I’d recommend it to families, solo travelers, or backpackers. This place stays with you.

Whenever I come to Rio, I stay at this hostel because the location is excellent. It was always a good choice despite some problems in the past, but since Mel and Patri took over, the place has a whole new energy. Travelers chat, cook together, joke around, and head out to see the city. It feels like a big family now, with a pleasant place to work and good internet. The bathrooms are clean, the bed linen smells fresh, and the kitchen utensils are new. They even have a hair dryer and an iron, which I haven’t found at other hostels I’ve stayed in. A big thank you to Mel for welcoming me so warmly. Special credit to Patrícia, who keeps the hostel, bathrooms, rooms, and beds in great shape, and also organizes great outings and parties with the travelers. She’s always smiling, upbeat, and full of positive energy. The hostel wouldn’t have this wonderful atmosphere without the light Patrícia brings 🫶🏻🌅

This is my third time staying at Hostel Lapa with Mel and Patrícia 💛. It’s the place where I really feel at home. It’s incredibly cozy, and the cleanliness, care, and attention given to every guest are excellent. I always feel safe, welcomed, and looked after 🏡✨. I’m already looking forward to spending Carnival and the days after it there this year 🎭🔥.
