I nearly forgot to leave the review I promised! I was there a little over a week, and Dudu and his family made me feel so welcome. They showed me around and shared lots of interesting details about the area. The sunrise view was amazing, and the place had such a cozy feel. There were plenty of cats nearby too, which I loved. 10/10.

The community felt lively and welcoming, and we’d often get stopped for a chat in the street. Locals told us it was “the most peaceful in Brazil.” Getting up and down the hill was easy by motorbike or kombi, and we felt extremely safe. Our room was clean and comfortable, with an unbelievable view. Dudu and family were so lovely, and the place felt like a beautiful oasis. We’ll be back!

Staying here was just what I was after. Dudu, the proprietor, is kind and friendly, and the view from his roof is incredible. He’s a legend!

The hostel manager drove us into the city center and showed us some local attractions. People were friendly and helpful, and we got to know locals and didn’t feel we had any reason to be afraid. You can catch a small bus up the hill for 4 Real. Honestly, the view alone makes staying here worthwhile.

It’s a friendly hostel with a few small dorm rooms. Some have spectacular views, though everyone can enjoy those views depending on where they hang out. It wasn’t the easiest place to find, but the people I met were helpful and friendly. The kitchen is small but does the job. Shower water isn’t always warm.
