The pictures are misleading, it’s worse in real life. The rooms had no windows and looked like prison cells. The toilets didn’t work, with layer upon layer of poop inside, and the showers looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. The whole place smelled of urine. If you arrive before 15:00, you have to pay to leave your bag in a room where there was a used condom on the floor. It’s disgusting, and the people working there were weird. It’s a biohazard; if the health department inspected it, they’d have to shut the place down. Minus 100 out of 10. I’d rather stay in a prison than go back.

I’m not someone who gets grossed out easily, and I’ve stayed in plenty of subpar places, but this one takes the cake. The toilets don’t work, so you can pee on top of someone else’s excrement, and the stained-looking sheets are laid over plastic-wrapped mattresses. Gross and dirty.

Bed bugs ruined my stay. I found signs of an infestation on the bed and noticed bites after my first night. The staff didn’t take it seriously, and the room clearly hadn’t been cleaned or inspected properly. I had to leave right away so I wouldn’t carry them with me. I can’t recommend it. Hygiene needs serious improvement.

The staff and volunteers were quite nice, but I wouldn’t recommend this hostel. The rooms are uncomfortable and packed with three-tier bunk beds, with no windows or space. The air conditioning runs all night and gets really cold, though at least they provide proper blankets. Hostelworld rewards them for sustainability practices, which makes little sense when the AC is on all night for no good reason. There’s a large common area with potential, but it’s filled with tables and has nowhere to relax apart from a sofa at reception. Music plays past midnight and starts again before 8 in the morning. Since reception is open 24/7, you hear noise constantly if your room is nearby. The photos and first impression make it seem fine, but there are a lot of problems.
