Ribalta Hotel Barra da Tijuca by Atlantica

The events space is right beside the hotel, and the music and bass were so loud I couldn't rest. I don't understand why there are no soundproofing measures between them. I'll definitely ask my company to find me somewhere else, where getting decent sleep is a normal expectation.

The location is really good, which makes it a shame the hotel seems poorly managed. We'd stayed here once before, but couldn't remember what the experience had been like. At reception, the service was poor. Nobody explained breakfast or the other services. Our room floor was badly cleaned and felt sticky, and security seemed very weak. We stayed four days, and I became very unwell. I suspect the air conditioner filter may have been responsible. Whenever I entered the room, my nose got blocked, I coughed a lot, and I couldn't sleep properly, so our trip didn't go as planned. Breakfast was poor too. The French bread was limp, as if it had been left over from the day before. The scrambled eggs were greasy, and the Minas cheese didn't look like it was from a reliable source. It had lots of little holes, which I took as a sign of possible fecal coliform contamination. We decided to have breakfast outside the hotel instead.

I stay at Ribalta Hotel whenever I'm there before boarding, and each visit has been excellent. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well organized, and the atmosphere is peaceful, just right for resting before a trip. The team is consistently polite, helpful, and attentive to guests. The commercial manager deserves a special mention. She's always available to listen to feedback and look for ongoing improvements to the stay, the facilities, and the hotel's presentation. That level of professionalism and care makes a real difference. I highly recommend it.
