The small rooftop pool is handy for a quick refresh or for children, but don’t expect to swim laps. We had a spacious, clean room, a very comfortable bed and a small balcony with a nice sea view. The AC was noisy, and the curtains let in some sunlight. The hotel is near the beach, with a convenience store downstairs selling water and alcohol, useful since minibar drinks, including water, aren’t free. Laundry was so expensive that we didn’t use it. Reception was cold at both ends of the stay: at check-in one person was on the phone while the other ignored us, and at checkout they coldly asked us to wait while they checked that, as we’d told them, we hadn’t taken anything from the minibar. That’s an unpleasant way to handle things, especially at this type of hotel after we paid around 2000 euros. Those first and last impressions need work.

Young Felipe was especially helpful at reception. I left my wallet in the breakfast room, and the staff returned it intact. They showed real honesty.

The breakfast was delicious and had lots of options, and the room was very clean and well kept. The rooftop pool could be bigger, but the view, shower and sauna make up for its size. On my first visit to Rio, I felt very safe here: they take a lot of precautions, including locking the front doors in the evening and at night. The staff were attentive, often opening the entrance door for us, and Felipe would hurry over whenever we got in or out of a car to open the door and load our luggage. I’d highly recommend the hotel.

The location is just the best, two minutes from the beach, and the rooftop pool is beautiful. You can see Christ Redeemer on one side and Sugar Loaf Mountain on the other, amazing views. Rooms are clean and spacious, food is amazing 👏 and the staff are very good, they also know all their guests. Security is spot on.

I didn’t feel welcome as a solo female traveler. Most of the front desk staff were impolite and greeted me arrogantly. I’ve stayed in many places alone and expect better treatment, especially at USD350-400 per night. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it.
