Pousada Casa Branca

The owner is fantastic, and his wife is wonderful too. They go out of their way to please guests and make us feel at home. The pools and rooms are good, the breakfast is good, and the staff are lovely. Casa Branca has a special place in my family's life. On our first visit we booked three days with the family, but by the third day we were so taken with the place that we added another night. When we left, I booked four more days for the following week!

The owner of the inn was very welcoming and willing to sort out any problems, and when the breakfast griddle was broken, he made an effort to find another way to heat our bread. Still, my stay wasn't a good experience for what we paid. There were several infrastructure issues. Guests upstairs were smoking, and cigarette smoke came through the bathroom window and made the room smell. The shower didn't have enough water pressure. The owner removed a valve and asked me to wait five minutes, but I needed to shower, so I removed it myself. I had to crouch to bathe, and water ran into the room and soaked it. My wife was straightening her hair at the time, so it could have been dangerous. My wife and I like toasted ham and cheese sandwiches at breakfast, but the griddle was broken. Also, they wouldn't let us split the payment on the card, so after the advance payment, I had to pay the other 50% all at once. With the infrastructure problems and the high price, the stay was disappointing. I hope they improve these important details, since they can make all the difference. Best of luck.

We were welcomed well, and the place itself is cozy and pleasant. With the new space, the inn has room to grow, but there are a few things that need work. Our room wasn't cleaned during our three-night stay, and nobody offered to clean it or change the towels or sheets. Breakfast starts late and the serving window is short. The parking needs better organization, since some people park badly and block others, making it easier to hit nearby cars. The gate security also needs attention, perhaps with a gatehouse. This morning, January 2, 2022, guests in the next room were shouting and arguing at 6:40 am. The hotel could share its rules with guests when they arrive and put reminders on signs inside the rooms.

The owner is very attentive and helpful. The setting is pleasant, there's plenty of parking, and it's easy to get to. Rooms are spacious and generally good. The pool is a little small, but enough for the kids to have fun. Breakfast is simple, and there's no restaurant.
