Hotel Rio Branco

Great!

The only thing I liked was breakfast. At R$ 170 for the simplest single room, this felt more like a paid hostel than a hotel, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The bed was awful and hard as a prison bed; the minibar was switched off and empty, and there was only a ceiling fan. If the shower ran for too long, the power went out. The bedding smelled used, and there were too few outlets to charge a phone. After paying, I went into the room and found all that. The daytime attendant seemed to spend all her time on her phone in the staff bathroom, which might as well be called reception. When I arrived, the attendant first told me the rate was 670, as if they didn't want to take me in; when I asked, “670?”, they said 170. For that price, I expected much better service. I don't know how this place is still open.

I needed a place at the last minute and was treated really well. They were very understanding, and the accommodation was fine for sleeping.

The room was tidy and clean, and I really enjoyed the days I spent there. I'd recommend it.
