Canto Hotel

We loved ending the day on the rooftop, with drinks, appetizers, and a pool overlooking Rio Vermelho and the ocean. Mornings started with a delicious breakfast, and the staff were welcoming, attentive, and made us feel safe. My wife and I had a relaxing stay at Canto Hotel. Our room was clean, beautifully designed, and had everything we needed. We’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Salvador.

The rooftop was a highlight, with great views from the small pool, plus food, drinks, and live music. The hotel is lovely for a night or two, with delicious food, friendly staff, and great decor, though the rooms are very small and the plants are all fake. Check-in and checkout could be smoother: the desk was often empty, so we had to ask someone to find a receptionist. A bell to call for help might fix that.

We only stayed a couple of nights, and the freshly made omelettes at breakfast were a real treat. The hotel is modern and beautiful, and the staff gave great service. Most speak only Portuguese, which was fine for us. The main issue was sound coming through the room door. Early in the morning we could hear guests and staff clearly.

The people who checked us in were great, but the rest of the team treated us terribly. We had friends over after our wedding and they weren't allowed onto the Rooftop. I've never had service or attitude like that, and most of the staff shouldn't be in hospitality. The rooms are verrrry small, and the shuttered windows do nothing to block the nightclub noise, which went on until 3 am. The photos make the hotel look much better than it is. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
