Breakfast was the one bright spot. At $390 a night, I expected much more, but the room looked awful and basic things from the safe to the shower controls didn’t work. The cleaning was poor too: there was a shower cap left behind the bathroom door and the bin hadn’t been emptied. I waited until the following afternoon to switch rooms. There were constantly unhappy guests complaining at reception. The staff didn’t seem able to do much, not because they didn’t care, but because that’s just how the place operates. They charged me for bottled water in the room and for using a hotel towel at the pool. It has none of the standards of a four-star hotel, and the authorities should inspect it and downgrade it. It seems aimed at families looking for a cheap holiday, since three people can stay in a room for the same price. For what I paid, I’d have been better off at any decent bed and breakfast. Apart from breakfast, forget it.

This hotel is on my blacklist, and I’d tell others to avoid it or keep a very close eye on their belongings. I travel a lot and have rarely dealt with staff this uncooperative. I left my glasses at the beach. A man from one of the beach drink stands turned them in to the gate security guard, but the hotel did nothing to find them and kept pointing me to a lost-and-found department that never got in touch. Another guest called from a taxi within 15 minutes of leaving her necklace behind and told staff exactly where it was. They said nothing had been found. Given these experiences, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone there were trading in supposedly lost items.

Right by the beach, with calm natural pools at low tide. It’s a lovely place, clean and elegant, with a great atmosphere and several restaurants.

The pool smelled like pee and was packed with children. This place feels meant for families, not adults. Everything shuts at 10, and there’s nothing to do after that. They charge for pool towels, the place is pretty dated, and the Wi-Fi doesn’t work.

I was here for a programming competition and we made good use of the hotel’s amenities. The buffet food was consistently good, and having the beach just a few steps away was great. It’s a good place to stay if you’re attending an event like that.
