For $85 a night, this was poor value. After three nights I asked for a refund for the fourth. Management got in touch at first, then stopped replying after I explained the issues. There were basic cleanliness and maintenance problems on arrival: hair on the sheets, dirty towels, a bathroom ceiling that leaked, and a safe that didn't work. Getting into the room meant using a huge, outdated key that didn't feel secure. The property needs renovation and is badly maintained. There's no elevator, so you have to carry luggage up the stairs. For the price, the place felt more like a hostel than a hotel. The staff were attentive, but the property was very poor. There are cleaner, better options nearby.

The staff were the biggest highlight. They helped us in every way, gave us great suggestions, and carried our luggage up to the top floor and back down when we left in the middle of the night. I won't forget how well they treated us. The place itself is gorgeous, from the decor to its spot on one of Salvador's prettiest streets. Everything else was perfect. The only thing I'd change is the double-room bed, which was a little too small, and my friend and I weren't keen on the curtain all around it.

We dropped in for breakfast on Christmas Day. The posada was friendly, the buffet was nice, and the scrambled eggs were great. It's a traditional, artsy place where you can buy local art, and there's also a shop selling local clothes.

The staff were outstanding, especially the lovely people in the kitchen and at reception. They were friendly, thoughtful, and so helpful. A friend recommended this pousada, and I'm glad they did. I'd happily recommend it too. It's in a typical Salvador neighborhood, and the building really makes an impression. Staying there felt like living briefly in an artistic Bahiana home. Breakfast gave us a taste of local morning food. We had a balcony with a sea view, and the sunsets were beautiful and unforgettable.
