Pousada Esmerelda has a really interesting feel, with art and one-of-a-kind decor, and it's in a neighborhood where we enjoyed spending our evenings. Natalie and Marco were lovely hosts. We had a big room for the four of us and a lovely stay. I highly recommend it.

They really look after their guests and are so kind. The owners put together a wonderful breakfast with lots of fruit and cakes, plus coffee, juice, and plenty of good conversation. They were happy to help with anything we needed. Thanks, you two, for such a great stay.

We stayed at Pousada Esmeralda for one night, and our room was just right for the three of us. It even had a little balcony and hammock, which was lovely for watching the birds in the morning. The pousada was charming, rustic, and clean, about a 15-20 minute walk from the old town center. Even in that short time, Marco and Nathalie made a real impression. They treated us like family, shared lots of great recommendations, and made the best breakfast we've had on our trip so far. They also kindly arranged an early breakfast since we had an early bus to catch.

The breakfasts deserve a mention, they were fantastic, varied, and healthy. The location was also very convenient for visiting the "pelo". Marco and Nathalie were fun to spend time with, very welcoming, and knew the area extremely well. We felt right at home in this beautiful pousada. I'd recommend staying here to my friends and to anyone reading this.

Natalie and Marco are warm hosts and really helpful with their tips. They speak English, Portuguese, French, and Italian. I liked that their place is on a quieter road in Pelourinho, so you're close to everything but can still get a good night's sleep. I had a very relaxing stay and highly recommend it.
