Rede Andrade Mar Hotel

At breakfast, the cakes and fruit were about all I could eat. The orange juice smelled mouldy, with slime floating on top. Nights were noisy, and there were a lot of sketchy people outside the hotel. Our room was damp and smelled like a mix of chlorine, insect spray, and mould. There were small bugs crawling into our suitcases and over things like the toothbrushes. After we complained about the mould, they painted over it, getting paint on the suitcases too. When we complained again, someone cleaned them with chlorine or something similar, and it damaged the luggage. We were told to turn down the air conditioning, but there was mould inside it as well. There was nowhere to hang towels, the towel holder was mouldy, and the towels and sheets had various stains.

For one night, with an early departure, it worked out for me, but the room was disgusting. I booked a double and got two single beds with wooden frames and nothing else, not even nightstands. The mattresses were thin and cheap feeling, and the sheets and towels seemed extremely old. The bathroom was very basic, smelled bad, and had black mould around it. The property itself is old but not that bad. Those old photos from decades ago make it look much better than it is now. You can’t really enjoy staying here or use it as a proper hotel. I’d only stay if I had to and nowhere else was available. Since it was my first night and I’d never been here, I didn’t know what to expect. Honestly, my car might’ve been better. It felt more like a public shelter or jail cell, and it’s worth paying a bit more for a real hotel room.

A good location, with simple, comfortable rooms. It isn’t luxurious, but it met expectations. The pool and breakfast were okay.

Nothing fancy, though it’s centrally located. It needs a lot of updating and a thorough clean. I’d ask for an even-numbered room.
