Pousada Solar Dos Deuses

The caring staff made our stay feel so personal. Everyone was lovely, and we had great conversations with Alessandro and Sandra. We’d love to come back and see them again. The pousada has just 6 rooms, all cozy and nicely decorated, each themed around a God or Goddess from the Candomblé religion. Our room was comfortable and very clean, and shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were provided in the shower. They also offer a lovely breakfast delivered to the room. It’s in Salvador’s historic district, with lots of nice restaurants and shops nearby for souvenirs. You can walk to the elevator that goes down to the big market, with more places to eat and shop. There’s also an overlook nearby with a beautiful view of the water and port. This boutique hotel was absolutely lovely, and I really can’t think of a single complaint. I’d highly recommend it to anyone staying in Salvador, and I’d stay again when I’m able to return. If you don’t know Salvador, take care in some plazas and streets, especially at night. People may approach asking for money. It’s best to keep walking and carry as little as possible, which is useful advice anywhere if you look like a tourist.
