That balcony looked straight out toward the beach, and the view was spectacular. My room and bed were comfortable, and the internet was good enough for remote work. Salvador is a lovely city, Praia de Porto is its loveliest beach, and Village Novo is a lovely little hotel right on it. Highly recommend.

Bryan and Cristina made us feel welcome, especially since our kids were the same age as theirs. We even went to the beach together and joined a few child-friendly weekend events. We had an awesome time here two years ago, with a great beach view and plenty of nearby places offering different kinds of food. I'd highly recommend this spot whether you're traveling as a family, looking for a couples retreat, or visiting Salvador on your own.

We only planned to stay one day, then ended up there for three weeks. Bryan, an American expat, his wife, and the staff did all they could to make us happy. The breakfast and rooms were great, and the location is the best in Salvador. Leaving felt like saying goodbye to family. We'll always remember celebrating Brazil's soccer victories with the staff and hearing the neighborhood roar with cheers.

The location is excellent, near some of the peninsula's best beaches. The rooms are small and kind of dingy, though, and Salvador has much better options.
