A terrible stay. The place was so disorganized, and falling apart is putting it mildly. The walls had damp damage, and things were literally coming apart. We stayed three days and there was no room service: nobody changed the towels or made the bed, and I don’t think anything was cleaned. There was a dead cockroach on the stairs when we arrived, and it was still there when we checked out. On the second day, we had a tour and asked the owner what time breakfast would be so we could leave early. She just said there was no set time, sometimes 7, sometimes 8 or 8:30. The reception looked like a very dirty, cluttered room in someone’s house. Our room looked cute at first, but once we settled in, we noticed things were broken and falling apart. I can’t recommend it. Maybe I’d understand if it were cheaper, but we paid over 200 reais a day for a place with no proper facilities or organization.

It’s 5 minutes from Pelourinho, with a bakery, restaurant and market nearby. dona Irani is a lovely person and gave us tips on places to see. Breakfast wasn’t being served at the guesthouse while we were there. The room was very simple, but she cleaned it every day and changed the towels and bed linen. The place could use a few improvements, nothing major. Since we only went back to sleep, it was fine. I went to see Salvador, not the guesthouse!

The owner was very friendly and treated us well, but the place didn’t meet my expectations. I was disappointed by how poorly it was kept clean. You have to ask for towels and sheets to be changed, which should be routine. The breakfast wasn’t appealing either: the food stayed on the table the whole time with flies landing on it and no care taken. I really wouldn’t recommend it. The location is perfect if you want to be near the historic center, and the owner’s service was very good, but the other issues let us down a lot. 😐

It’s close to Pelourinho, but not right in it, so you’re near the festivities without hearing the noise when it’s time to sleep. The location is great. Service was good, and the attentive woman who served us made the place worth getting to know.
