Even with the construction going on, we had a lovely stay. The staff were amazing and welcoming, from the cleaning team and receptionists to the people serving breakfast and dinner. The restaurant meals were great, and Ione gave me the best massage. I've been to Thailand and Bali, and her hands felt healing. Thank you to every single one of you. There were lots of ants in our room, and it needs some improvement. We also had a torn curtain.

The sea view I paid for isn't there, and the noise and dust from the unbearable construction next door are awful. Hotel Zank deliberately tries to hide that the work is happening. The staff were unfriendly and incompetent. Avoid at all costs. Please see the pictures I took.

Breakfast was the highlight, with a lovely fresh spread of breads, cakes, fruit, and omelets. Zank also has a rooftop pool for sunbathing and enjoying the ocean view. The hotel sits on a terraced hill in the bohemian Rio Vermelho neighborhood of Salvador, with an amazing view. It's stylish, comfortable, and modern, and the service is excellent. With just 20 rooms, there's a chance to connect with the hospitality staff. The restored 100-year-old mansion has Portuguese colonial-style rooms, while the modern annex has stylish minimalist rooms. You're a short walk from the beach, restaurants, and nightclubs, though the hill is very steep on the way back, so watch out, kkkk. Zank is a lovely choice for couples or a wellness retreat. No children under 14 are allowed, making it ideal for an adult getaway.

The location is nice, the street feels safe, and reception gave me useful local tips and safety advice, including being careful with my cellphone and avoiding certain streets. The public rooms are attractive, the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, and the bathrooms are very nice. Service was attentive, they listened well, breakfast was good, and it was probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Well done to everyone! My only complaint is that there's a sign in front of the door, because I forgot my room number or the card. Nice location.

The little cove is only about a three-minute walk away, and swimming there is wonderful. The hotel sits on a hill above the sea, right by lively Vermelho. Casa de Lemanja temple and Casa Theresa, which is devoted to Brazilian specialties, are nearby too. Breakfast was great, the restaurant was good, and the place felt friendly and well-priced. Pretty much anything in Salvador was within a 15-minute drive, or less. Uber was cheap, reliable, and usually quick.
