Riacho Hotel

NÃO RECOMENDO! The room and building felt poorly put together, with exposed pipes, old noisy appliances, peeling paint, and a loose toilet. The room photos didn't match what we saw. The ceiling was painted black to cover the slab, but it was so thin we could hear the guest upstairs walking in certain spots. From my perspective, the place had a motel-like feel, and the thin walls made it seem like sleep would be difficult. We paid more than the stay was worth. There are better options near 060, and this hotel is far away, with nothing nearby. The parking setup wasn't decent either, just an improvised space over a sidewalk. We agreed with the R$ 30,00 pet fee, but felt they were cutting corners on cleaning. They said they used ozone in the rooms, yet we found spiders and cockroaches when we entered and sent photos to reception. The soap had no seal, so there was no way to know if it had been used. The drinks and snacks in the room, including soda, juice, and Fini, had no price list. A small Fine cost R$8,00.

We left at 2 a.m. after arriving at 23h because the shrill noise made it impossible for my husband and me to sleep. We're usually very easygoing about noise, but this was too much, and it cut our trip short. We weren't refunded, even though the amount charged could have paid for a much better hotel. I can't recommend the place. There were cockroaches and spiders, and paint was peeling from the walls. The service was terrible and the building left a lot to be desired. The soap was unwrapped, so who could say whether someone else had used it? The least they could provide is an individually sealed bar. They skimped even on the structure. My pet peed in the room, but I cleaned it myself. They claim to care about hygiene, yet there were pests in the building. Something's not right.

We asked for a refund after all of this, because the treatment, lack of clear information, and what felt like bad faith were simply unacceptable. We had arrived late, so they moved us to a room, and we requested the refund in the morning. We came to Brasília and reached the hotel around 2 a.m. on 29/11, a little after midnight. We'd told them the exact arrival time months ahead so there wouldn't be any misunderstanding. If we'd meant morning or afternoon, I would have given that time of day. “A little after midnight” seemed clear to me. I understand there's a standard check-in time, but the hotel should have clearly told us that arrivals after a certain hour weren't accepted. Guests shouldn't have to guess at house rules that weren't explained, especially after giving the hotel our arrival time in advance. Instead of acknowledging that, the owner insisted “a little after 00h” could mean any time. It made no sense and felt sarcastic and out of touch. He also said, “Even a 5-year-old child would know you don't check in at midnight.” That was arrogant, rude, and disrespectful. I'd never stayed at a hotel before, so I didn't know there was a specific check-in time. That doesn't change the hotel's responsibility to explain everything clearly and ahead of time, which didn't happen. The owner never admitted any mistake and implied my family was at fault for “not knowing the basics.” The room had been shut up and smelled strongly of mold. Turning on the air conditioning helped a little. The blanket also smelled moldy, looked old, and had a hard patch, so it didn't feel clean at all. The bathroom was small, had no window, and felt stuffy. What they called a “window” was an old, patched-up opening that couldn't be opened, making the room even more uncomfortable.

Wouldn't recommend it. The service wasn't very helpful, the bathroom toilet was loose, there were insects in parts of the room, and breakfast was quite limited.
